Email Notifications
Immediate Alerts
When an alert is created with the immediate alert action, an email is sent to the family admin immediately. The email includes:
- Child name and device name
- Alert title and severity
- AI-generated summary of what was detected
- Confidence score
- A link to view the alert in the portal
Emails are sent from DoNotReply@w3i.io via Azure Communication Services.
Daily Digest
The daily digest is a summary email of all open alerts from the past 24 hours. It includes both immediate and digest-type alerts so you get a complete picture.
Configuration
- Digest time — When the digest is sent (default: 08:00 in your timezone)
- Timezone — Your local timezone (default: Australia/Sydney)
- Enabled/Disabled — You can turn off the daily digest entirely
Configure these in Settings → Notifications.
How It Works
- A scheduler runs every 5 minutes
- At your configured digest time, it checks for open alerts from the last 24 hours
- If there are alerts, a digest email is sent
- If there are no alerts, no email is sent (no “all clear” messages)
- Only one digest is sent per day per family
What’s Included
The digest email lists each alert with:
- Child name
- Alert title
- Severity
- Category
- Link to view in the portal
Notification Channels
Currently supported:
- Email — Immediate alerts and daily digest
- In-app — Alerts visible in the portal
You can configure which channels are active in Settings → Notifications.
Troubleshooting
If you’re not receiving emails:
- Check your spam/junk folder — look for emails from
DoNotReply@w3i.io - Verify your email address is correct in your profile
- Check Settings → Notifications to ensure email is enabled
- Ensure you have open alerts — the digest is only sent when there are alerts to report
- Check the digest time — it’s sent at the configured time in your timezone, not UTC
